PROTECTION, ACCOUNTABILITY & JUSTICE

Protecting People. Combating Impunity.

Advancing Justice. The Protection, Accountability & Justice Division is dedicated to protecting individuals and communities affected by human rights violations while promoting accountability, access to justice, and effective remedies. At the Confederation for Democracy and Human Rights (CDDH), we believe that protecting victims, supporting those at risk, documenting violations, and combating impunity are essential to strengthening the rule of law, restoring human dignity, and building peaceful, democratic, and resilient societies. This Division brings together CDDH's specialised programmes that focus on protecting human rights defenders, political prisoners, political exiles, and survivors of torture, while documenting human rights violations, supporting accountability processes, and promoting justice through national, regional, and international mechanisms. Through research, documentation, monitoring, advocacy, legal engagement, capacity building, strategic partnerships, and international cooperation, the Protection, Accountability & Justice Division works to prevent human rights violations, protect those most at risk, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and ensure that victims have access to truth, justice, reparations, and guarantees of non-recurrence.
